While serving a Spanish speaking mission for his church, Shawn gained a unique understanding of the challenges and opportunities that immigrants face in the United States. When he returned to Brigham Young University Shawn majored in Latin American Studies and took classes in Latin American politics, economics, history, culture, literature, and more. While at Brigham Young University Shawn met his wife with whom he enjoys spending his free time.
